ABOUT

In the spirit of Montgomery College's mission—endless possibilities—our vision is to grow the Metropolitan Orchestra to regional prominence by attracting extraordinary individuals who desire to make music at the highest possible artistic level. The Metropolitan Orchestra will create individual and collective opportunities for musicians who enjoy making music together and listening to each other to enrich and impact the college and community with outstanding performances.

The Metropolitan Orchestra is the orchestra of Montgomery College. It is a volunteer orchestra open to both student and non-student musicians.  Musicians may audition and play at no cost unless course credit is desired. High school students may earn Student Service Learning (SSL) hours through their performances to the community in the Metropolitan Orchestra.

Auditions are required to maintain the highest level of musicianship possible and will also serve the purpose of placement. Rehearsals are held Monday evenings, and four performances are held each season.
