AUDITION
Instrumentalists are invited to audition for the Metropolitan
Orchestra @ Montgomery College.
Auditions for the 2011-2012 season will be
held on the date listed below.
Those unable to audition on these
dates should contact the manager.

Saturday, January 21,
2012, 3-5 p.m.

After September 12,
2011 auditions will be held Mondays from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.

Tuesday, August 9,
2011. Closed.

Monday, May 16, 2011, from
2-5 p.m. and from 6-9 p.m. Closed.
What to Expect and What to Bring:
-
Instrumentalists will prepare two
pieces of music of contrasting style (these may include concerti
movements, etudes, solo pieces, orchestral excerpts, etc.) that
display the full potential of the player's abilities. Total duration
no more than 10 minutes.

Bring 1 copy of your prepared music.

A basic sight-reading
excerpt will be provided.

Each audition will be
no longer than 15 minutes.
General Information:

All musicians, new and returning, must
audition.

Conductor's approval through an audition is
required
before enrolling for college credit.

Pending
audition results, some students may be required to take lessons
through the college or
privately in order to participate in the orchestra.

Musicians
not enrolling for college credit are required to audition at
least once a year and may participate at no cost. Rolling auditions will be held for
those not seeking college credit.

Four performances will be held over
the 2011-2012 season with rehearsals held Monday evenings following
the College’s
academic calendar. The first rehearsal of the
