Montgomery College Department of Music launched the new Metropolitan Orchestra in Spring 2009, furthering its dedication to the musical arts. Under the direction of Pablo Saelzer, the orchestra serves musicians and audiences in the Washington Metropolitan area by providing an excellent ensemble in a quality educational environment.

In the spirit of Montgomery College's mission—endless possibilities—our vision is to grow the Metropolitan Orchestra to regional prominence by attracting extraordinary individuals who desire to make music at the highest possible artistic level. The Metropolitan Orchestra creates individual and collective opportunities for musicians who enjoy making music together and listening to each other to enrich and impact the college and community with outstanding performances.
